Why Selah?

Selah is Hebrew for a musical PAUSE, REST, or BREATH.

While this is a musical term it could not be more fitting for pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. The moments you are going through and preparing for will require you to to do these three key actions. We are a group of women called to come alongside birthing families and help them through this journey, so how can we help you breath?

“You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

Psalm 32:7

Supporting Partners

Many people ask whether or not the use of a Doula takes away from what the birthing partner can do. To the surprise of many, it has the exact opposite effect! The Doula is there to provide support and encouragement for birthing partners, which allows the partner to feel more confident in the process.
